The CORONAVIRUS, COVID-19, is impacting our daily lives as we have come to know it. The retail industry is stepping in to combat the spread of COVID-19 through enhanced in-store cleaning regimes, reducing store hours, limiting access to only in store pickup, drive through pick-up, or complete store closures.
As a Macy’s customeer, I received a email announcing the teeporary closure of their stores effective March 18th through March 31st. This announcement includes Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Bluemercury, Macy’s Backstage, Bloomingdale’s the Outlet, and Market by Macy’s stores.
These actions will impact operations at some of Macy’s distribution centers, but it appears customers will still be able to shop online. The email also made note that impacted employees will continue to receive their pay, and benefits.
