Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, one of my favorite doughnuts, and an iconic brand in Georgia, announces a special doughnut to coincide with the solar eclipse. The original glazed doughnut, will be offered with a chocolate glaze starting August 19th during evening Hot Light™ hours. What is a Hot Light™? It refers to the glowing neon sign in the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop window indicating a warm batch of glazed doughnuts are ready for purchase and to be enjoyed. Based on personal experience it takes discipline not to eat one before leaving the store.
According to Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, “the solar eclipse is a rare occasion providing a total sensory experience for viewers across the continental U.S. Chocolate will have the same effect as we introduce a first-time chocolate glazing of our iconic Original Glazed Doughnut. The Chocolate Glazed Doughnut is a delicious way to experience the solar eclipse – no matter where you are – and we can’t wait for fans to try it.”
Want more information on the chocolate glazed doughnut go to www.krispykreme.com/Eclipse. Interestingly, I am located approximately forty miles from St. Joseph, Missouri ground zero for the solar eclipse. I will update this post after sampling my very own chocolate glazed doughnut during the eclipse.
