National Institutes of Health Seeks Volunteers for Brain and Body Research Study

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is studying Brain and Body responses to stress or feel anxiety. NIH is seeking healthy volunteers between the ages of 18 to 50 who are free of specific medical conditions are not suffering from any psychiatric disorders. Disqualifying medical conditions include heart disease, neurological disease, pregnancy, or health problems related to drug or alcohol abuse.

Volunteers must participate in at least one outpatient visit up to a maximum of four visits, computer tasks, and exposure to uncomfortable simulations. The researchers conducting the study will monitor changes in the volunteers’ respiration, muscle activity, heart rate, and sweat responses. The duration of each session may last up to three hours.
